Peninsula Friends of Animals
Fundraisers

Our Fundraisers
Our various fundraisers account for approximately 20% of our total revenues. The most consistent source of funds is from the sale of our world-famous potholders. Not only are the potholders available from local businesses and our rescue shelter, they are also sold at our fundraiser events.
Every year, we hold a dining event at a participating local restaurant, where a portion of the meals served is donated to PFOA. Our 2026 dining event is on May 16 from 5 to 8 pm at C’est Si Bon in Port Angeles. It features a buffet dinner, with entree choices of chicken in wine, beer battered cod, or cheese pasta, plus garlic mashed potatoes, vegetables, salad and dessert. Tickets are $80 per person, and may be purchased at Safe Haven, Full Moon Candle Co. in Sequim, or Port Book and News in Port Angeles. Or you can give us a call at (360) 452-0414, ext 6. It all works!
We also participate in many local events on the Olympic Peninsula. Our bright green and white striped tent is easy to spot among the many vendor booths at these events. We also encourage people who wish to support us by conducting their own fundraising activities.

See us at Lavender Festival
The Lavender Festival has expanded the lavender industry in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley and increased agricultural, cultural, and culinary tourism on the North Olympic Peninsula. Between 1995 and 1998, eight lavender farms began planting, and currently there are close to 40 established lavender farms in the area.
Farms sell wholesale or retail. Some entertain visitors. Others propagate plant starts in large greenhouses; make products in the barn or ship out the dried herb in bulk to local cottage crafters.
Lavender Festival attracts thousands of visitors over the three day weekend in July. A street fair, craft booths and local entertainment, as well as tours of local lavender farms, are all free admission. We hope you will stop by the Peninsula Friends of Animals booth to say “hello” – our world-famous potholders are always available for purchase!
Attend a fundraising event
Throughout the year, Peninsula Friends of Animals sponsors its own fundraising events. Our fashion show, auction and tea, Catnip ’n Sip, has become an annual event. We also have had fundraising dining events at local restaurants. Our summer wine tasting event at Harbinger has also become an annual event. A special bottling of a selected Harbinger wine has become a collectible for many wine enthusiasts.
PFOA also participates in regional events every year. In addition to Lavender Fest, PFOA has traditionally participated in Crab Fest and a number of the holiday bazaars in November and early December. Christmas shoppers will be able to select from many of our world-famous potholder designs – always a great gift idea!

Create your own fundraising event
Many of our supporters have asked, “What can I do to help?” Some have created their own fundraising events to raise money for the PFOA rescue animals.
The posters and photos below tell some of the story. They have held events to raise money and/or donations for the kitties. We have had grade school and high school students contribute goods they have collected, and even donated birthday presents they requested to be items needed by the shelter. Food drives have been some of the more successful fundraising events. There has even been a disco dance held with a portion of the proceeds donated to PFOA.
If you would like more ideas for ways to help, please contact us! And thanks for your support.
